Organisers and Volunteers

The GX Run is organised by a group of local people wanting to raise money for our designated charities through providing a great day out for our local communities.

If you would like to volunteer your services or provide prizes for our Raffle and 'Lucky Envelopes' then please do get in touch. There are many ways you can be involved in the Fun Run as well as the key one of taking part! Can you help in the preparation or management of the day, marshal the route or organise a stall? The opportunities are endless so please do let us know how, either as an individual or as a group, you think you could help.

If you have an enquiry about the organisation of this event, please contact the Fun Run team. The Fun Run is an ideal opportunity for the whole community to not only get together and have fun but also to raise much-needed funds for two very worthy charities.

Get ready to run!

If you are new to Fun Runs (walks!), or simply want to improve your personal best then we have two very good organisations who may be able to help you with your training programme. They are 'The Running Sisters' based at the Memorial Centre in GX and 'The Burnham Joggers' who are based at Burnham Cricket Ground. These not-for-profit regular running/walking groups who would welcome you on board in training for this Fun Run or for ongoing training if you get bitten by the running bug!

We have also teamed with Sarah Liveing from 'Walking for Weightloss' for participants who would like some great tips and training for walking the circuit. Sarah will also be posting some delicious healthy recipes on this site which will give you extra energy and inspiration along the way.
